The new Change search criteria button opens a drawer that allows users to change search parameters without leaving the menu item.
The filter drawer is active for all Grid, Pivot Grid, Multipart and Treeview menu items. It cannot be used when the menu item is inside a multipart, tab, or popup, or when the menu item uses saved searches.
Toasts are a less intrusive alternative to dialogs for presenting messages to users. They can either dismiss automatically after a period of time or require the user to dismiss them.
You should consider whether current uses of ADMIN_SuccessMessage should be replaced by ADMIN_SuccessToast. On the other hand, error messages should usually not be toasts.
Softadmin® now supports dark mode. You can use the built-in dark theme or create a custom theme.
Dark mode is disabled by default. When enabled, the application follows each user's operating system setting by default, but users can choose a different mode.
Dark mode does not affect user-created HTML or images, and does not modify colors provided through _Color, _Style, or _HTML columns. As a result, such content may look out-of-place when dark mode is used.
You can now, on a field-by-field basis, enable click to copy in InfoSQL boxes.
The new DocumentUrlFragment column lets you pass URL fragment parameters to documents displayed by the Inline Document component. For example, toolbar=0 to hide the PDF viewer toolbar.
Which features are supported depends on each browser.
URL fragment parameters can be passed to any document type. In practice, however, useful functionality is only provided by PDF viewers.
The GenAI component can now act as an MCP client, allowing the AI model to call tools provided by MCP servers.
Currently, only unauthenticated MCP clients are supported. Additional authentication options will be added in future releases.
Textbox and Textarea controls can, when used on a parameter page, be configured to create a text embedding from their content. Both the plaintext and the embedding are then passed to the procedure.
This allows, for example, Grid menu items to easily use the AI Search features introduced in 8.11.
The streaming-specific Store Chunk command, introduced in 8.11, can now return progress information for each processed chunk.
The GenAI component can now specify a custom reasoning effort for the model during the Init call.
The MCP tools under mcp-sa-devtools now include tools to create, edit, and delete menu items, fields, parameters, and links. This is in addition to the read-only tools shipped since 8.10.
The PWA login experience has been improved for systems using Active Directory Single Sign-on. When the LoginKeepUserSignedInDays setting is configured, users will no longer be prompted for their Windows credentials on each login.
This applies to both iOS and Android.
Rename table can now handle recreation of indexes, check constraints and computed columns when required.
